Cinco de Mary Mags Celebration: A Night to Remember!

Thank you to everyone who joined the Cinco de Mayo-themed fun during the first week of May. A percentage of all our dine-in sales from 5 PM onwards went towards supporting St. Mary Magdalen’s Primary School in East Sheen. It was a fantastic night for both current students and alumni who showed up to support! We enjoyed plenty of nachos and carnitas. The photo booth and “pin the tail on the donkey” activities added to the festive atmosphere, making it a memorable evening for everyone.

Why Celebrate Cinco de Mayo?

Mexicans are the largest Hispanic population in the United States, accounting for 60% of the U.S. Hispanic population in 2021. From 2000 to 2021, the Mexican-origin population grew by 79%, from 20.9 million to 37.2 million. This significant presence has led to a rich tapestry of Mexican cultural influences across the country, especially in our cuisine.

We suggested to embrace a Cinco de Mayo theme, aligning it with the early May bank holiday. The event allowed us to celebrate and honor this vibrant culture while also supporting a local cause.

Feeding the families of Mary Mags has always been a joy, and participating in this fundraiser was a wonderful way to give back. We hope this marks the beginning of a new tradition that combines community spirit, cultural celebration, and support for our local school.

Thank you again to everyone who participated and made the night a success. We look forward to many more celebrations together!
